Hinsdale
DUI
Haley Rajeshkumar Patel, of the 1600 block of N. Michigan Avenue, Village Park, was charged with driving under the influence -alcohol, driving under the influence > .08, and improper lane usage, at 1:101 a.m. Jan. 12.
Arson
Kenneth J. Allen, 41 of the 5300 block of Woodland Avenue, Western Springs, was charged with arson, driving under the influence, driving under the influence+. 08, parking in roadway, criminal damage to property, at 1:57 a.m. Jan. 15. The suspect was observed fleeing the area of a reported burglary in which the vehicle was set on fire. The suspect was known and recognized by the victim.
Motor vehicle theft
Unknown suspects stole a 2015 Kia Optima from the Shell Gas Station, 210 E. Ogden Avenue, while it was left unattended, unlocked and running with the keys in it, at 8:02 p.m. Jan. 16. The car was recovered in Harvey on Jan. 17 and appears to have been used in two armed robberies after the theft.
Domestic battery
Eric A. Martinez, 30, of the 600 block of The Lane, Hinsdale, was charged with domestic battery, at 3 p.m. Jan. 15.
Traffic violations
Chi Wai Chan, 34, of the 4400 block of Arbor Circle, Downers Grove, was charged with driving while license suspended, operating uninsured motor vehicle, and operating a vehicle with suspended registration, at 12:15 a.m. Jan. 10.
