The following items were taken from Morton Grove Police Department bulletins. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.

Traffic violations

Hussein Rezai, 20, of the 5000 block of Conrad Street, Skokie, was arrested March 17 on the 6900 block of Dempster Street for driving on a suspended driver’s license, police said. A court date is set for April 5.

Theft

A complainant residing on the 9100 block of Menard Street stated March 8 someone had broken the rear driver’s side door of her vehicle and saw that the steering column had been broken and a small coin purse removed, police said.

Deceptive practice

A complainant residing on the 0-99 block of Reba Avenue stated he has been working with a company for some years and gets clothing from them, but was told recently that the company’s banking information had changed, police said. The complainant stated he wrote two checks that were cashed but did not receive merchandise, police said.

Identity theft

A complainant residing on the 8900 block of McVicker Street stated March 16 someone has been contacting him since 2020 about a loan and that a person tried to get approved using his account information and social security number, police said.

Fleeing or eluding

Officers saw a stolen vehicle at the intersection of Beckwith and Lehigh Streets and tried to stop it March 18 but the driver continued to speed away, police said.
