A La Grange Park man has been charged with two counts of Criminal Sexual Assault, a class 1 Felony.
Tony E. Moton, 48, of the 1600 block of Forest Road, was taken into custody by La Grange Park Police March 31. At an April 3 hearing at the Cook County 4th District Courthouse a judge set Moton’s bond at $500,000.
“There is no threat to the community,” Commander Fran Marrocco said.
Marrocco said the alleged victims were not from La Grange Park, but the incidents did occur in the village, making the La Grange Park Police the proper jurisdiction for the arrest
The charges are a result of an investigation dating back to September 2022, police said. The La Grange Park Police were notified Sept. 26, 2022 of an allegation of sexual assault against two juvenile victims.
La Grange Park Police investigated the allegations while working with members of the Cook County State’s Attorney’s office. After interviews with the alleged victims, the charges were approved.
The alleged victims told authorities that Moton was their youth leader at Rock of Ages Church in Maywood, police said.
