
The following items were taken from Highland Park police department and Lake County court clerk reports, news releases and records. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.
THEFT
A Highland Park resident in the 1200 block of Park Avenue West reported April 20 that someone stole 12 pieces of art valued at $70,000 from the home sometime in the past two months.
An unknown individual walked into a retail business in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road, placed nine bottles of alcoholic beverages in a cart, covered them and left the store without paying April 19.
USE OF A WEAPON
Edgar Carson, 49, of the 9500 block of South Yale Avenue in Chicago, was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal transportation of alcohol, stopping, standing or parking in a prohibited space and operating an uninsured motor vehicle April 23. He was arrested after police responded to a motorist assist stop in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road determining he was driving under the influence of alcohol and was illegally in possession of a loaded gun. He was scheduled to appear in Lake County Court April 27 in Waukegan.
DUI
Andrew L. Madenberg, 62, of the 500 block of North Logan Street in Denver, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol April 29. He was arrested after police responded to an assistance call in the 0-100 block of Sheridan Road, found him outside his vehicle and determined he was under the influence of alcohol. He was released on bond and is scheduled to appear in Lake County Court June 9 in Waukegan.
Jose Angel Cruz-Santiago, 24, of the 200 block of Highwood Avenue in Highwood, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with an invalid license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and illegal stopping, standing or parking April 29. He was stopped near the intersection of Green Bay Road and Roger Williams Avenue for swerving between lanes and found to be under the influence of alcohol. He was released on bond and his court date is pending.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY
Someone reported their home in the 3000 block of Parkside Drive was egged April 24. The home has been egged before.
VEHICLE THEFT
While the owner of a vehicle left the it unlocked while walking into a restaurant in the 1900 block of First Street, two unknown individuals got inside and drove away April 25.
