A bicyclist was killed Thursday night when he was hit by a car in North Chicago, according to the Lake County Coroner’s Office.
He has been identified as Kyle Summy, 36, with a last known address of Beach Park. The coroner’s office conducted an autopsy Friday and said Summy died from blunt force injuries.
Authorities said Summy was riding on Illinois Route 41, north of Casimir Pulaski Drive, at about 10:51 p.m. when he was hit by a vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle remained on scene. The incident remains under investigation by North Chicago police and the Major Crash Assistance Team of Lake County.
