
Here are five events scheduled from Sept. 8 to 14 in Lake County
Magic Man
Magician Michael Carbonaro performs at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 8 at the Genesee Theatre in Waukegan. Tickets are $37-$65. At 203 N. Genesee St. 847-263-6300; geneseetheatre.com.
The family-friendly magician is currently on tour with “Carbonaro: Lies on Stage,” a show filled with magic, comedy and audience participation.
Vehicles displayed
A Vintage Car Show will be from 12 to 4 p.m. Sept. 9 at The Lot in Highland Park. Tickets are free. At 525 Central Ave. enjoyhighlandpark.com/the-lot.
Up to 100 vehicles will be displayed; including classic cars, commercial vehicles, muscle cars, hot rods and more dating from 1907 to 1981. Iconic vehicles like the Batmobile, Bat Cycle and Scooby Dooby Doo Van will be on-site. There will be live music from The Wayouts at noon and The Four C Notes at 2 p.m.
Fly guys
The Northern Illinois Air Show is from 12 to 5 p.m. Sept. 9 at Waukegan National Airport in Waukegan. Tickets are $20. At 2358 W. Beach Road. 847-244-0055; northernillinoisairshow.com.
The A-10 (Warthog) Thunderbolt II Demo team will be performing at this year’s air show. Gates open at 9:30 a.m.
Block party
Rock the Block will be from 4 to 11:30 p.m. Sept. 9 on Main Street in downtown Lake Zurich. Tickets are free. At 70 E. Main St. 847-438-5146; lakezurich.org/450/Rock-the-Block.
The 10th annual Rock the Block festival features Kelly Daniels at 4 p.m., Hello Weekend at 6:30 p.m. and ARRA headlining at 9:30 p.m. There will also be food trucks.
Funny man
Comedian Pat McGann performs at 7 p.m. Sept. 9 at the Raue Center for the Arts in Crystal Lake. Tickets are $28-$50. At 26 N. Williams St. 815-356-9212; rauecenter.org.
The Chicago comedian and co-founder of the Raue’s Lucy’s Comedy Café returns for an evening of relatable and observational comedy.
