Naperville’s curbside leaf collection starts Monday
The city of Naperville’s curbside leaf collection will begin Monday, Oct. 16.
Each neighborhood will have three free collection opportunities over the next six weeks. Cycles take about two weeks to complete, depending on the weather, and will start on Mondays, Oct. 16 and 30 and Nov. 13.
Residents should rake their leaves to the street, avoiding the storm drains, during each cycle. Branches, twigs, lumber or other items with the leaves should be removed, a city news release said.
The collections are meant to complement other options for disposing fallen leaves, including mulching, composting or the free bagged leaf collection.
Residents can track the progress of the collection cycles at www.naperville.il.us/leafcollection or can sign up for city alerts at www.naperville.il.us/napernotify.
