The following items were taken from Park Ridge Police Department reports. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.

Criminal Damage to Motor Vehicle

During the overnight hours of Dec. 7, multiple vehicles on the 800 blocks of Rowe Avenue, Seeley Avenue, Wilkinson Parkway and Marvin Parkway had their windows damaged by BB rifle fire. Cars on the 700 block of North Western Avenue and 2500 block of Glenview were also damaged, according to police. A 2023 Jeep parked on the street of the 2100 block of Bouterse Street had its driver’s side window shattered by fire from a BB rifle.

A driver attempted to turn into the Mariano’s parking lot at 1900 South Cumberland Avenue when an unknown male riding a black electric bike yelled at the driver for turning and proceeded to strike the vehicle’s driver’s side window and mirror, causing it to break off on Dec. 1 around 1 p.m. According to police, the suspect fled westbound on Higgins Road.

Suspicious Circumstance

On Dec. 1 at approximately 9:30 a.m., a Thornton’s gas station employee at 1118 West Touhy Avenue located a skimming device placed over a credit card terminal by the register. An unknown offender placed the device at an unknown date and time, according to police.

Aggravated Battery

A minor traffic collision occurred on I-90 just before the Higgins Road exit on Dec. 3 around 1 p.m. The two vehicles pulled over, and the victim believed there would be an exchange of information, but was struck by the driver of the other vehicle. According to police, the offender reentered his vehicle and fled the scene.

Disorderly Conduct

A Mariano’s store security officer observed an unknown man attempt to steal two bottles of alcohol on Dec. 6 around 7:30 p.m. The staff made contact with the offender, who put the merchandise back on the shelf, according to police. As the offender was leaving, he made numerous threats to an employee. The offender has made previous attempts to steal from the store in the past.

Burglary to Motor Vehicle

Victims were visiting a grave site of a loved one’s family at the Town of Maine Cemetery on Dec. 7 around 10:20 a.m. They left their car unlocked and alone for 15 minutes, and when they came back, they discovered personal items were missing.

Speeding

A 24-year-old Des Plaines man from the 9300 block of Greenwood Avenue was arrested at 641 North Northwest Highway in Park Ridge on Dec. 4 at 1:28 p.m. for speeding 26-34 mph over the limit.

A 28-year-old Chicago man from the 3900 block of North Merrimac Avenue was arrested at 800 North Northwest Highway on Dec. 6 at 7:01 p.m. for speeding 26-34 mph over the limit and having an expired registration.

Suspended/ No Drivers License

A 30-year-old man with no known address was arrested on Dec. 8 for operating an uninsured vehicle around 5 a.m. The arrest occurred at 815 Devon Avenue. The man had no driver’s license, registration and his headlights and taillights were out.

A 52-year-old man was arrested at his address in the 800 block of Delphia Avenue on Dec. 9 around 1:40 p.m. for driving on a suspended license and operating an uninsured vehicle with an expired registration.
