
It was a mere glimpse at a funeral that a lawyer first caught sight of a local ghost of lore only described as “The Woman in Black,” and the plot inspiration for this stage suspense penned by Stephen Malatratt and based on the novel by Susan Hill.
Chicago Street Theatre and director Lisa Formosa-Parmigiano helm this new production with cast leads Tyler Mills as the lawyer and Rob Morris as a hired actor accomplice in this spine-chilling tale of a neighborhood living in fear of a vengeful ghost who has haunted and blamed generations of townsfolk for the accidental killing of her illegitimate child.
Performance run starts Oct. 11 for three weekends through Saturday, Oct. 26 with show times at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2:30 p.m. Sundays. Country roads concert
Uncanny bespeckled likeness and talent Ted Vigil, returns to TATC for his John Denver tribute concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13. Singer and songwriter Vigil, 60, continues to kindle the legacy of Denver, who died at age 53 in 1997 in a tragic plane crash. Vigil played to sold-out audiences in June 2023 on the TATC stage and returns, this time with fiddler Amy Daves, to headline one concert back in the stage space at The Center for Visual and Performing Arts, 1040 Ridge Road in Munster. Get the Led Out is the Philadelphia-based tribute band to the iconic Led Zeppelin, always offering the audience the promise of “no bad wigs nor fake English accents.” Lead by the vocals of Paul Sinclair and Tommy Zamp, the six-member group plays one concert at 8 p.m. CST Oct. 11 on stage at Four Winds Silver Creek Event Center, 11111 Wilson Road, New Buffalo, Michigan. A SUPER exhibit
Michigan City collector Werner Graf has amassed hundreds and hundreds of rare toys, vintage comics and fantasy fun collectibles, all superhero-themed, along with original artwork from the 1960s to 1980s. “Kapow! Mighty Mythos” is a large and varied whimsical free exhibition now through Oct. 19 of Graf’s childhood and adult carefully preserved treasures as displayed at Lubeznik Center, 1010 W. 2nd St. in Michigan City. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., except for closed Tuesdays and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

A wel-Kem
When Michigan-raised singer-songwriter Kem wrote, produced and financed his first self-released album in 2000, he titled it “Kemistry.” He paired with Toni Braxton to record “Live Out Your Love” and this weekend he’s at The Venue at Hammond Horseshoe Casino at 777 Casino Center Drive in Hammond for one show at 8 p.m. Oct. 12. Scare factor
Brothers Tom and Donald Plummer of Nightfall Terrors Haunted Attractions have once again created a new and elaborate custom haunted house now open on weekends through Halloween at Zig-E’s Funland, 8176 Wicker Ave. in St. John.
