A 21-year-old Algonquin motorcyclist died Wednesday night after driving into a car on Randall Road in Sleepy Hollow, police said.
The incident occurred about 6:50 p.m. at the intersection of Technology Drive. A preliminary investigation shows that Caden Palka, 21, was traveling south on Randall Road on a Yamaha motorcycle when he struck a northbound Suburu Forester turning west on to Technology Drive, according to the Sleepy Hollow police report.
Palka was taken to Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin, where he later died, the report said. The Subaru driver, 22-year-old Maya Sobolewski, of Sleepy Hollow, was transported to St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team was called in to assist with the accident investigation. Preliminary findings indicate speed and aggressive or reckless driving may have contributed to the crash.
