The Porter County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a Saturday night shooting at a convenience store outside the Aberdeen subdivision in Center Township, according to a release.
One male was injured and transported to a nearby hospital; he is in stable condition, according to a release from Sgt. Ben McFalls, the department’s public information officer.
“This appears to be an isolated incident and we do not believe there is an ongoing threat to public safety at this time,” McFalls said in the release.
Police were called around 8:25 p.m. Saturday to 3550 Ind. 2, the site of a Family Express, and found a male victim with a gunshot wound, according to the release.
