A 19-year-old man was fatally wounded overnight on the city’s Southwest Side in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood, Chicago police said.
Shortly before 2 a.m., the victim was standing outside in the 4000 block of West 69th Street when he was shot multiple times in the lower back, police said.
The victim was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he was pronounced dead.
A preliminary investigation revealed the man may have been traveling in a vehicle when the shooting happened.
No one was in custody for the fatal attack and detectives were investigating.
