Chicago Heights

GUN POSSESSION: Tyreek Roach, 24, 22000 block of Karlov Avenue, Richton Park, was arrested May 5 in the 1000 block of Lincoln Highway and subsequently charged with being a felon possessing a machine gun after Cook County sheriff’s investigators recovered a loaded 9 mm pistol equipped with a switch to convert it to fire automatically and an inserted loaded extended magazine, police said. Roach is being held in Cook County Jail without bond until his May 20 court date at the Markham branch, according to sheriff’s records online.

Evergreen Park

AGGRAVATED SPEEDING: An Alsip man who drove past Evergreen Park High School at 58 mph and then increased his speed to 75 mph was shocked with a Taser during the traffic stop after releasing a dog from the car and struggling with officers, police said. Charles C. Jackson, 53, 3900 block of 123rd Street, was charged with aggravated driving on a revoked license, aggravated speeding/35+ and resisting arrest, police said.

Frankfort

AGGRAVATED BATTERY: Michael S. Nearey, 48, 20600 block of Settlers Lane, Frankfort, was arrested April 27 near LaGrange Road and Lincoln Highway and subsequently charged with aggravated domestic battery/strangulation, according to police and Will County court records online.

Lockport

GUN POSSESSION: Miceala L. Thomas, 21, 17900 block of School Street, Lansing, was arrested May 5 and subsequently charged with aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon in a vehicle after officers recovered a .40 caliber handgun with a loaded magazine inserted and a second loaded magazine and determined she lacked a gun permit in the 1200 block of South State Street, police said.

New Lenox

BURGLARY: Lawn care equipment valued at $5,000 was reported taken May 4 and equipment valued at $15,000-$20,000 was reported taken May 5 from a trailer at Franklen Equipment, 2324 E. Washington St., police said.

Oak Lawn

GUN POSSESSION: Anthony I. Trejo, 22, Chicago, was arrested April 4 and charged with unlawful possession of a weapon during a stop in the 5100 block of Museum Drive after officers recovered a 9 mm handgun with a loaded magazine inserted and determined he lacked a concealed carry license, police said.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY: An apartment in the 10800 block of Kilpatrick Avenue was broken into April 9 but nothing was immediately reported missing, police said.

GUN POSSESSION: Denzel C. Kimbrough, 30, Plainfield, was arrested April 12 and subsequently charged with unlawful possession of a weapon after officers recovered a 9 mm handgun and ammunition from his vehicle and determined he lacked a concealed carry license in the 4000 block of 103rd Street, police said.

Orland Park

DUI CRASH: Cedric A. Walls Jr., 26, Aurora, was arrested April 18 and charged with drunken driving, improper passing/leave roadway, improper lane use/wrong lane and failing to provide proof of insurance after driving into a drainage ditch at 108th Avenue and Blue Jay Drive, police said.

RETAIL THEFT: Alize D. Christian, 28, Chicago, was charged with felony retail theft April 20 after taking fragrances collectively selling for $711 from a beauty retailer at Orland Square mall, police said.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT: Izaiah T. Sims, 26, 500 block of 2nd Street, Crete, was arrested April 14 and subsequently charged with aggravated assault after threatening another person with a closed pocketknife at a restaurant in the 15700 block of Harlem Avenue, police said.

Park Forest

GUN POSSESSION: Marcus L. Jamerson, 29, 100 block of Shabbona Drive, Park Forest, was arrested March 22 and subsequently charged with aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon after officers recovered a loaded 9 mm handgun with a loaded magazine inserted in a parking lot in the 100 block of Sycamore Drive, police said.

GUN POSSESSION: Justin C. Rickmon Jr., 23, 800 block of Sandra Drive, University Park, was arrested March 26 and subsequently charged with aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon after officers recovered a .40 caliber handgun with a loaded magazine inserted and determined his gun permit was revoked during a stop on Cedar Street, police said.

DEALING ALLEGED: Deonta R. Robinson, 27, 17100 block of Ingleside Avenue, South Holland, was arrested March 31 and accused of manufacture/delivery of more than 30 grams of cannabis after officers recovered 4.1 ounces of marijuana in 11 bags and an electronic scale during a contact if the 400 block of Winnebago Street, police said.

University Park

ARMED ROBBERY: Tamaya L. Brazill, 18, 600 block of Margaret Street, Dolton, DeMarco M. Haywood, 18, and Marchante L. Smith Jr., 19, both of the first block of Thornwood Mall, University Park, are scheduled to appear in Will County court May 28, charged with armed robbery/firearm, aggravated robbery/firearm indicated, aggravated battery/deadly weapon and theft, according to court records online. The three allegedly took a cellphone at gunpoint and struck a person April 7, according to the Will County state’s attorney’s office.

Will County

ARSON CHARGED: Patrick S. Bennett, 28, 6500 block of Kennedy Road, Peotone, was arrested May 5 and subsequently charged with arson and damaging property after a fire to a small shed in the 31000 block of Ridgeland Avenue near Peotone, sheriff’s police said.

CHILD EXPLOITATION: Peter Strama, 22, 16100 block of Linsey Lane, Lockport, was arrested May 7 on a Will County warrant charging him with disseminating child sexual abuse material and possessing child sexual abuse material, sheriff’s police said. The charges stem from a Feb. 3 search at his home that recovered electronic devices containing videos and still images of child sexual abuse material, sheriff’s police said.
