A Schaumburg man has been charged in a Thursday night stabbing in the Loop neighborhood that left a 26-year-old man seriously injured, Chicago police said.
Alejandro Tellez, 36, was charged with one count of attempt first degree murder, one count of aggravated battery causing bodily harm and one count of aggravated battery with use of a deadly weapon, police said.
Officers arrested Tellez moments after the Loop stabbing that happened about 9:20 p.m. Thursday in the first of block of North State Street. He was taken into police custody in the 100 block of North LaSalle Street.
Tellez is scheduled to appear at a detention hearing Saturday afternoon, police said.
