Burbank
COMMERCIAL BURGLARY: A window was shattered and two video gambling machines pried open early April 16 at Burbank Pub, 4804 W. 83rd St., police said. Early morning break-ins that day were also reported at facilities with video slot machines in Crestwood and Homewood, police said.
AGGRAVATED BATTERY: Dawn M. Godfrey, 40, 8400 block of Mansfield Avenue, was arrested May 3 in that block and subsequently charged with aggravated battery to a police officer and resisting arrest after closing the front door on one officer’s back and kicking another officer, police said.
Chicago Ridge
AGGRAVATED BATTERY: Toufiq A. Attia, 24, Hickory Hills, was arrested March 29 in the 6600 block of 95th Street and subsequently charged with aggravated battery/great bodily harm following a car-pedestrian collision, police said.
AGGRAVATED BATTERY: Adnan M. Safi, 43, Hickory Hills, was arrested May 9 in the 10500 block of Southwest Highway and subsequently charged with aggravated domestic battery/victim 60+, police said.
Crete
GUN POSSESSION: Nina S. Harper, 21, 1200 block of Birdie Court, University Park, appeared in Will County court May 19, charged with aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon in a vehicle, according to court records online. Harper was arrested Feb. 1 after officers recovered an unloaded 9 mm handgun as well as a loaded magazine during a stop in the 100 block of West Exchange Street and determined she lacked a gun permit, police said.
Evergreen Park
AGGRAVATED BATTERY: Hasaan S. Echols, 56, Chicago, was arrested April 26 in the 8700 block of Kedzie Avenue and subsequently charged with aggravated battery to a police officer, felony retail theft and aggravated resisting arrest, police said. Echols took merchandise selling for $137.85 from Walgreens, 8700 Kedzie Ave., fled, pushed a metal commercial rubbish container into an officer, hit the officer with the container lid and struggled with the officer and another, police said.
ASSAULT: Vershun M. Stingley, 46, Chicago, was arrested and accused of assault and disorderly conduct May 6 outside Walmart, 2500 95th St., after arguing with and threatening other customers and then threatening to kill a uniformed officer, police said.
Frankfort
BLACKJACK POSSESSION: David R. Drewes, 32, 7900 block of Northwoods Drive, Frankfort, appeared in Will County court May 18, charged with unlawful possession of a blackjack/knife, according to court records online. Drewes was arrested April 27 in that block after officers recovered the weapon and a knife, police said.
Justice
STORE BURGLARY: Joey’s Red Hots, 7800 block of Frontage Road, was forcibly entered through the front early May 14 and video slot machines were damaged, police said.
Mokena
GUN POSSESSION: Scott T. Sumrall, 40, 10500 block of Sharon Lane, Mokena, appeared in Will County court May 18, charged with possessing a firearm with a revoked gun permit, reckless discharge of a firearm and illegally possessing ammunition, according to court records online. Sumrall was arrested May 5 in that block and transported to an area hospital for treatment of a leg wound, police said.
Oak Lawn
AGGRAVATED SPEEDING: Nathan J. Gesiakowski, 19, 9900 block of Buell Court, Oak Lawn, was arrested April 16 and charged with aggravated speeding/35+ mph after driving 72 mph in a 35 mph zone in the 5000 block of 103rd Street, police said.
AGGRAVATED BATTERY: Lukasz Strok, 35, 5700 block of 90th Street, Oak Lawn, was arrested April 24 and subsequently charged with aggravated domestic battery/victim 60+, according to police and Cook County court records. He remains in Cook County Jail without bond and is scheduled to appear in court at Bridgeview May 21, according to sheriff’s records online.
Orland Park
ID THEFT: Robert C. Patterson Jr., 25, Chicago, was charged with unlawful possession of a credit/debit card and financial identity theft May 1 after officers recovered numerous credit/debit cards in other persons’ names, a $2,800 check in another person’s name, numerous bank receipts in other persons’ names and someone else’s driver’s license during a stop at 159th and 71st streets, police said.
RETAIL THEFT: Laura J. Lavender, 62, 15600 block of Ridgeland Avenue, Oak Forest, was charged May 9 with felony retail theft in connection with taking jewelry selling for $1,202 May 2 from Brighton Collectibles, 9500 143rd St., police said.
AGGRAVATED BATTERY: Matthew E. Shimonis, 31, 8300 block of 157th Street, Orland Park, is scheduled to appear in Will County court June 8, charged with aggravated battery to a child younger than 13/great bodily harm Feb. 25, according to court records online. Will County deputies took Shimonis into custody May 14 on a warrant, sheriff’s police said.
Park Forest
GUN POSSESSION: Jwuan J. Bolton, 25. 300 block of Meota Street, Park Forest, was arrested April 6 and charged with aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon after officers recovered a loaded 9 mm pistol and determined he lacked a gun permit during a stop at Arrowhead and Allegheny streets, police said. Bolton was also charged with resisting arrest after officers used thermal imaging equipment to locate him about 500 feet away, police said.
ARMED VIOLENCE: Angel Lopez, 25, Chicago, was charged April 9 with armed violence, manufacture/delivery of cocaine and manufacture/delivery of a drug without currently accepted medical use during a traffic stop in the first block of Westwood Drive, after officers recovered a loaded 9 mm handgun, 48 bullets, two plastic sandwich bags containing 17.5 grams of suspected cocaine, 26 grams of suspected psilocybin mushrooms, two scales, multiple empty plastic snack bags, $6,929 cash, and receipts from January through April for USPS deliveries to seven out of state locations, police said.
Steger
ARMED ROBBERY: A ride-share driver successfully delivered food to a New Linden Apartments resident April 24 despite being initially robbed by a woman and a knife-wielding man wearing an ankle monitor, police said. The driver recovered the still stapled bag of food left inside the building by the fleeing couple, police said.
Tinley Park
HIT-RUN: Luis M. Galvan, 34, Hammond, Indiana, was charged May 6 in Cook County court with leaving the scene of a personal injury crash and obstructing justice in connection with a March 20 collision at 167th Street and Ridgeland Avenue in Tinley Park that resulted in the other vehicle slamming into a tree, police said. Galvan, located at a work site, initially denied removing the van’s business identifications and said an employee had been driving the vehicle when it hit the car, police said. The other driver was hospitalized, police said.
