One person died in a two-vehicle crash Monday evening in Liberty Township, police said.
Around 5:56 p.m., deputies with the Porter County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Ind. 49 and County Road 600 N, according to a release from the sheriff’s department.
An initial investigation showed that a 2024 Tesla truck was traveling west on 600 N when it collided with a southbound 2017 Nissan passenger car. The female driver of the Nissan passenger car passed away, police said.
The Porter County Coroner’s Office has not yet identified the victim.
The Porter County Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating.
The sheriff’s department expects to release more details Wednesday.
