Some pockets of the northeastern part of Hinsdale experienced “extensive flooding” on Saturday, June 26 around 1 p.m., the village said in a statement Monday afternoon.
It’s not yet clear what caused the flooding, but the village is working with its engineering firm, HR Green, and the Illinois Tollway to determine a possible reason for the “unusual event.”
“While we do not have many answers right now, please know that we are doing what we can to identify the cause of the flooding,” the village said.
If you experienced property damage as a result of the June 26 flooding, email HinsdaleOutreach@villageofhinsdale.org.
