Film director Franco Zeffirelli has lost a $1.5 million lawsuit in which he accused a Milan TV station of ruining a broadcast of his film ”Romeo and Juliet” with 18 commercials.

A Milan civil court agreed that too many ads may violate the director`s

”moral right,” but that alone does not merit the awarding of damages.

Zeffirelli had also asked that the station, Antenna Nord, be restrained from ever screening ”Romeo and Juliet” again.
