A 32-year-old hairdresser was listed in critical condition Friday after being shot twice by a gunman in his Northwest Side shop. Police said Zoltin Dobos was working late Thursday in his Downtown West European Hair Styling salon at 5313 W. Lawrence Ave. when a man entered at 10:15 p.m. and announced a holdup. ”The victim had a customer in his chair, when this man opened the door and held it open,” said Lt. John Minogue, commander of Grand Central Area violent crimes unit. ”The man pulled out a handgun and announced a holdup. Dobos told him, `I don`t have any money.` The gunman fired a shot into the mirrors behind Dobos. Dobos walked toward the gunman, who fired two shots, striking the victim. The gunman fled on foot without taking any money.”

Dobos, hit in lower left chest and the left side of the head, was taken to Northwest Hospital. Minogue said the customer described the gunman as a 25-year-old Hispanic, clean shaven, about 5 feet 10 inches tall.
