Bulldozers have begun moving more than 60,000 cubic yards of earth to the Universal Studios Florida site where a re-creation of the famous house from the motion picture ”Psycho” will be standing by this Halloween.
The ”Psycho” house will sit atop a 22-foot hill when construction is completed. The hill, topped by the house, will cover approximately three-quarters of an acre.
Officials at Universal Studios Florida say the ”Psycho” house will easily be visible from Orlando`s Kirkman Road, which passes by the east side of the studio.
Along with the ”Psycho” house, the Bates Motel is also being re-created at the bottom of the hill.
The ”Psycho” house, along with its renowned occupant, Norman Bates, played by Anthony Perkins, will return to the screen in 1989 in ”Psycho IV”, which will begin production at Universal Studios Florida sometime in November.
