Models won`t be complete until early 1989 at the English Oaks of Fox Trails in northwest suburban Cary, but 16 sales have been made since September`s groundbreaking.

Eventually, 176 single-family homes priced from $119,500 to $145,500 will be built in the project. The first phase consists of 66 units.

Jane Post, marketing vice president for developer United Development Homes, said a strong family market in Cary has been driving early sales.

The units range in size from 1,622 to 2,435 square feet, and all include family room, basement and two-car attached garage. Of the five, only the smaller, two-story Hickory design will not have a model, Post said, ”because we felt that was the easiest to read from blueprints.”

A New England Colonial elevation is standard for all five floor plans, though each can be upgraded to a traditional brick exterior or a country exterior of stone. The base price of all English Oaks homes will include wall- to-wall carpeting and easy-care flooring in the foyer and kitchen.

Kitchens include continuous-clean gas ovens and ranges with vented hoods, dishwashers and disposals.

Though the Fox Trails development has been in existence for a number of years, United purchased the project and sold off lots to two more builders over the past year. English Oaks is located off Cary-Algonquin Road, two miles northeast of Ill. Hwy. 31.
