Brian Leetch`s power-play goal early in the third period earned a tie for New York.
Leetch skated into a pass that Mark Messier had feathered back near the blue line and beat goalie Jeff Reese with a booming slap shot at 5:38. Reese was making his first start for Calgary since a 10-player trade Jan. 2 with Toronto.
Other scorers for the Rangers were Adam Graves, Kris King and Sergei Nemchinov. Scoring for Calgary were Ron Stern, Paul Ranheim, Joe Nieuwendyk and Gary Roberts.
