More than 1,000 volunteers are needed April 27 to help coordinate the 17th annual Lake County Races.
The event will benefit the Northeastern Illinois Special Olympics and Glenkirk, agencies that serve individuals with developmental disabilities in the Chicago area.
Nearly 5,000 people are expected to take part in the races. Volunteers are needed along the 26.2-mile course from Zion to Highland Park. Volunteers also are needed April 25 and 26 for the Lake County Races’ Health and Fitness Expo at the Sheraton North Shore in Northbrook.
The races will feature running and walking events, including the Lake County Jenny Spangler Trustmark Marathon, the Moore Half-Marathon, the Victory/St. Therese Enterprises Inc. 10K and the Lake Forest Health and Fitness Institute 3.5-Mile Fun Run and Walk.
