Village officials have given the green light to a joint operation by White Hen Pantry Inc. and Shell Oil Co.
On Monday, the village approved an extra 7 square feet for the sign at the Shell Oil station at U.S. Highway 45 and Illinois Highway 83.
The Shell station at 2250 S. Illinois 83 will replace its Experience the Difference convenience store with a White Hen Pantry, said Don McCabe of White Hen Pantry. The focus of the food service at the station will change to prepackaged perishables and emphasize a limited hot food menu.
