Meat exports dim: Asia’s currency crisis is reducing prospects for U.S. meat exports and leaving record supplies on hand for American consumers, government figures show. The U.S. Department of Agriculture raised its estimate of red meat supplies on the domestic market this year to 48.6 billion pounds from last month’s estimate of 48.3 billion pounds.
