Little Richard, George Clinton, Joe Walsh, Ike Turner and other pop stars are scheduled to be on hand when the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum opens a noisier and brighter shrine on Thursday.

The new Hall of Fame wing will replace a hall many said had the feeling of a church.

Since it opened in 1995, the old Hall of Fame had been in a darkened, quiet room at the top of the building. The new wing, originally planned as a theater, covers 5,482 square feet, about a quarter the size of the old hall. It also will be more interactive.
