Norway’s Lasse Kjus won his first World Cup downhill title by finishing fourth Friday in a race in Kvitfjell, Norway.

Austria’s Andreas Schifferer won the race in 1 minute 46.36 seconds. The big loser was Austrian star Hermann Maier, who finished 16th and dropped to third behind Kjetil Andre Aamodt and Kjus in the race for the overall crown.

– World champion Renate Goetschl of Austria added the World Cup downhill crown with a victory in St. Moritz, Switzerland. Goetschl won in 1:48.65 seconds.
