A cashier at Dominick’s Finer Foods, 1145 Mt. Prospect Plaza, reported a customer stole $148.31 Wednesday by confusing the employee with currency transactions. The man purchased $17 in items, handed the cashier a $20 bill, then asked if he could get a $50 bill in return if he gave the cashier some $1 bills and $10 bills in exchange for the higher bill. He then asked to exchange that cash for a $100 bill, confusing the cashier further.
