When it comes to cooking, convenience is the primary concern for busy people. Maytag Appliances’ Gemini electric range boasts two ovens that allow cooks to prepare different menu items at different times and temperatures simultaneously.
Taking its name from the zodiac sign of the twins, the range has one oven to accommodate large items such as a turkey and a smaller oven above the other that heats up twice as quickly. Together, the two ovens provide 5.2 cubic feet of capacity in the same space as a conventional freestanding range.
The smaller oven, has an autoset temperature of 170. There also is a scrolling control that gives automatic prompts when entering cooking commands and allows the customization of clock options, such as reminder beeps when baking time is completed. Priced at $1,399, the Gemini twin-oven range will be offered in three colors–white, black and a brushed chrome finish.
