Ruth A. Gockel, 73, of Evanston, died March 31, 2002 at Evanston Hospital, of Cancer. Ms. Gockel retired from Arthur Andersen in 1992 after 35 years of service as a manager in training and recruiting. She was active in her church, St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wilmette, a member of the North Shore Choral Society, Center Court and volunteered at the Hospitality Center for the Homeless in Evanston. She is survived by her loving sister, Miriam Reinhold of Chicago; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 3, 10 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 1235 Wilmette Ave., Wilmette, IL 60091, followed by the service at 11:30 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church Social Ministry or the North Shore Choral Society, P.O.
