A small blast at a McDonald’s restaurant in Beirut on Saturday may have been intended to lure people toward a car packed with explosives parked nearby, but the bomb failed to detonate, security sources said Sunday.

The car contained about 120 pounds of explosives, enough to destroy the restaurant where a dynamite bomb had exploded in the toilets earlier, slightly injuring three people, judicial sources said.
