HOLDING COURT: Tom Sizemore pleaded innocent to 16 misdemeanor counts of hitting, harassing and threatening ex-fiance Heidi Fleiss.
The actor also was formally served Friday with a restraining order barring him from contacting the former Hollywood madam, who reportedly is a witness in another unrelated domestic violence case against Sizemore.
The charges involving Fleiss were filed last month. They include accusations that Sizemore made about 100 harassing telephone calls to her over a year, committed vandalism, threatened to inflict injury to a person or property, and committed corporal injury resulting in a traumatic condition, city prosecutors said.
Sizemore is free on $100,000 bail and due back in court June 24. He faces up to 13 years in prison if convicted of all the charges.
SO SUE HIM: Michael Jackson’s attorney said the copyright lawsuit brought against the King of Pop borders on “ridiculousness.”
Jackson has been ordered to give a deposition in a lawsuit alleging that the Jackson 5 used the name of another band and two of their songs without license on an album.
“The ridiculousness of this whole thing is that when these songs came out, Michael Jackson was 9 years old and for him to have a recollection of what was going on 30 years ago, it’s absurd,” said Jackson’s lawyer, Robert Meyer, on
Friday.
Meanwhile, a Los Angeles judge will decide next week whether to give the go-ahead to a $12 million lawsuit against Jackson filed by a former financial adviser. The lawsuit claims Jackson is a “ticking financial time bomb ready to explode.”
PICTURE PERFECT: The paparazzi can only hope the Turlington wedding pays off as nicely as Demi Moore’s impromptu love cruise with Ashton Kutcher. Pictures of the canoodling couple are fetching bundles of cash, according to the World Entertainment News Network.
They’re on the cover of the June 16 issue of People magazine (and in a six-page spread inside). The New York Daily News reports the magazine forked out $50,000 for the snapshots, while the National Enquirer shelled out $112,000 for a different set of pictures.
Speculation of a romance between the pair heated up last week when they were spotted enjoying a romantic Los Angeles date at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Earlier, they boarded a chartered yacht with rap mogul P. Diddy headed for the Bahamas.
A HOUSE IN THE HILLS: Kelly Osbourne
is leaving the nest–but not flying very far.
The heavy metal princess reportedly plunked down about $1.2 million for a 3,000-square foot house in the Hollywood Hills, says People magazine, not far from Ozzy and Sharon’s Beverly Hills estate.
Amenities include a two-story master bedroom suite and a spa.
Married–at last
Actor Ed Burns and model Christy Turlington finally tied the knot this weekend in San Francisco with a bevy of star guests.
Sting, Vin Diesel and Bono, who walked Turlington down the aisle, were among the celebs on hand for the wedding, which was originally planned for October 2001 but was postponed after Sept. 11.
The bride wore Galliano, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. As for the groom, who cares?
Paparazzi set sail to catch a glimpse of the ceremony, which took place in the North Beach neighborhood of the city, with throngs of reporters from People, Us Weekly and “Entertainment Tonight” on hand as well.
Burns told the Telegraph of London they hope to have three or four children. Save it for the honeymoon, Ed.
