Aldermen are lawyering up and clamoring for more information as they prepare to approve or reject a new sale of Chicago’s parking meters.

And the question growing at City Hall this week amid legal uncertainty: Does the City Council have leverage to improve the infamous privatization deal?

“I don’t know,” Ald. Andre Vasquez said. “And when the answer is I don’t know, the response should be: Let’s pause.”

‘It’s just gone’: Communities reeling after tornadoes rip through Illinois and Indiana, leveling homes

The National Weather Service’s Chicago office said it is conducting storm surveys over the next few days to gauge exactly how many tornadoes touched down Thursday as well as their intensity. Read more here.
