WTTW-Ch. 11 has renewed “Sound Opinions,” the weekly, locally produced talk show about pop, rock and hip-hop featuring Tribune music critic Greg Kot and Sun-Times critic Jim DeRogatis. The station has ordered 26 new episodes, set to begin on April 11.

Randy King, Channel 11’s executive vice president for TV, said he has had discussions with PBS and American Public Television about bringing the show to other markets.

“Sound Opinions,” which was developed from a radio program of the same name hosted by Kot and DeRogatis on WXRT-FM 93.1, attracted limited local sponsorship during its initial run, King said.

So far, it averaged .9 rating points and 1.6 percent of the audience in its 10:30 p.m. Sunday time slot, according to Nielsen Media Research.
