Vladimir Radmanovic struggled for the last month despite being put in the Sonics’ starting lineup after coach Bob Hill took over Jan. 3. So the team dealt him to the Clippers on Tuesday for Chris Wilcox in an exchange of 6-foot-10-inch forwards.
Radmanovic, 25, who is averaging 9.3 points, down from 11.8 last season, will be a free agent at season’s end. He is a career 38 percent shooter on threes.
Wilcox’s production also is down from 7.9 ppg. and 4.2 rpg. last season to 4.5 and 3.6. The 23-year-old was the eighth overall selection in the 2002 draft.
Hughes gets bad news
Cavs guard Larry Hughes (16.2 ppg.) likely will miss the rest of the regular season after having surgery for the second time in six weeks on his right middle finger. The Cavs are 18-10 with him, 12-11 in his absence.
Layups
Clippers forward Corey Maggette, sidelined almost 2 1/2 months (left foot), was cleared for on-court rehabilitation and stationary shooting. . . . Wizards forward Jarvis Hayes had surgery on his fractured right kneecap and will be re-evaluated in six to eight weeks with no timetable set for his return. He averaged 9.3 points and 3.6 rebounds in the Wizards’ first 21 games.
