A. Doraine Anderson, 72, longtime Evanston resident, activist and philanthropist, former junior high and college teacher, former member of the City of Evanston Plan Commission, retired from Inland Steel Company, passed away May 27, 2006 from cancer. Survived by her sister, Joan Anderson of Washington, DC. Memorial Service Sunday, July 16, 2 p.m. at The Woman’s Club of Evanston, 1702 Chicago Ave., Evanston, IL 60201. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the City of Evanston K-9 Fund, c/o the Chief’s Office, Evanston Police Department, 1454 Elmwood Ave., Evanston, IL 60201.
