The Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum will increase its admission by $2 next month but will remove a special-exhibit fee.
The increase comes on the heels of admission hikes from other Chicago area museums in the last few months.
Starting July 1, adults will pay $9 for admission. Children between the ages of 3 and 12 will be charged $6. Students and seniors will pay $7.
Those who in the past paid the $3 special-exhibit fee along with an admission fee will now notice a $1 drop in the total price.
Museum officials hope visitors will browse all the exhibits through the new fee. This will be the museum’s first fee increase since 2002.
The museum will continue to offer 52 free days each year and provide free admission passes at Chicago public libraries.
