A man on a motorcycle was struck and killed in a hit-and-run accident in West Englewood early Sunday, police said.
Andrew Tyler, 24, was struck about 4 a.m. as he went through the intersection of South Oakley Avenue and West Marquette Road. Tyler, who had been traveling southbound, was struck by a westbound Pontiac sedan, which sped off after the collision, Police Officer Marcel Bright said.
Tyler, of the 6600 block of South Oakley, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead about 5 a.m., said a spokesman for the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Bright said the department’s major accidents investigation unit was looking into the incident, which happened about a block from Tyler’s home.
