Roger Michael Simone of Naples.

FL, formerly of Vernon Hills, IL, passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 9, 2007.

In his free time Roger volunteered generously, serving as a City of Vernon Hills Park Commissioner, ushering at St. Mary of Vernon Church, and most recently volunteering at Physicians Regional Medical Center in Naples.

He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire(’58) and achieved the level of Captain in the U.S. Army Reserves.

His distinguished career began with John Hancock in Massachusetts, which he later continued in Illinois.

He eventually became the Vice President of Marketing at Federal Life Insurance Company until his retirement in 2000.

Roger is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Sandra; and two sons, Eric with his wife Toni and son Xander, and Jeffrey, with his wife Jenifer and children Alexandra, Samuel and Lily; he is also survived by his brother Ronald Simone.

Preceded in death by brother Peter Ernest Simone.

Roger had a contagious zest for life, enjoying cooking (he was amazing), entertaining, and most of all making his family and friends laugh.

He will be missed by all who knew him; his family asks that you remember him with a smile.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday September 12 (TODAY) from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fuller Funeral Home, 4735 Tamiami Trail, Naples.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Elizabeth Seaton Catholic Church, 2760 52nd Terrance S.W. Naples at 10 a.m. on Thursday September 13.
