Boston’s Josh Beckett (20-7, 3.27 ERA) and Cleveland’s C.C. Sabathia (19-7, 3.21), the top two Cy Young award candidates in the American League this season, will face each other in Game 1 on Friday night at Fenway Park. In Game 2 on Saturday, Curt Schilling will face Fausto Carmona. Daisuke Matsuzaka will start Game 3 in Cleveland on Monday against Jake Westbrook.
