Sen. Barack Obama talks about Republicans all the time on the campaign trail.
He points to what he views as their failings in national leadership, but also how some approach him after campaign events and confess that they are backing him. He often jokes that they don’t need to whisper about backing a Democrat.
Obama’s embracing of the GOP expanded today with the release by his campaign of a list of 268 Iowa Republicans backing his candidacy.
“This public support from Iowa Republicans is yet another sign of Senator Obama’s crossover appeal,” the campaign said in a statement.
