Dear husband of the late Marguerite, nee Holmes; loving father of Brooke (William) Crowden and William F.(Lisa) Ludwig III; devoted grandfather of Marguerite and William L. Crowden, Maggie M. andOlivia J. Ludwig; fond brother of the late Betty (the late Jim) Dodson; loving uncle of Bob and Steve Dodson and Patty Harwood.
A frequent lecturer on the history of percussion at many colleges and universities,William still enjoyed performing as a percussionist into his 80’s. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 19, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 7300 W. Division, River Forest.
