Class 3A sectional final at North Chicago

Records: Grayslake Central 18-12, Johnsburg 27-7.

Halftime: Johnsburg 28-16.

Summary: Johnsburg started the game on a 9-0 run and never relinquished the lead. The Skyhawks went on to outscore Grayslake Central 15-2 in the first frame, playing flawless full-court defense. Johnsburg limited the Rams to only five first-quarter field-goal attempts and didn’t commit a foul until the second quarter. The Skyhawks outrebounded the Rams 12-3 in the pivotal first quarter and extended their lead to 18 points entering the fourth. Johnsburg beat Grasylake Central for the third time this season.

Top performers: Johnsburg — Danielle Slivka 22 points, 4 rebounds; sophomore Melissa Dixon 10 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists. Grayslake Central — Alison Metzger 16 points.
