Evanston police have charged a home daycare provider with misdemeanor child endangerment and contributing to the neglect of a child after they say she left a 1-year-old crying in a stroller for 45 minutes outside her home.
Authorities said Miaw Falkenberg, 68, has had her daycare license suspended while they review the incident, which occurred at about 4 p.m. Nov. 5 at Falkenberg’s home in the 1200 block of Dewey Avenue.
According to police spokesman Tom Guenther, officers were dispatched to Falkenberg’s home after receiving a report of a crying child left unattended in a stroller in the rear of the building.
