Five diners at a Noble Square neighborhood restaurant were injured when part of the ceiling collapsed and a decorative wooden light fixture fell on them, authorities said.

The injured suffered mainly brusies and cuts, but one also had a bone fracture, police said.

The Chicago Fire Department sent four ambulances at about 9 p.m. to the Kin Sushi and Thai Cuisine restaurant at 1134 N. Milwaukee Ave., according to the fire department.

Four people–three women and a man–were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, two in fair-to-serious condition and two in good-to-fair condition. Their injuries were not life-threatening, officials said.

Another woman was treated on the scene.

Authorities did not know why the fixture fell. The restaurant building is of modern design.
