Chicago police detectives are warning residents of Washington Park and surrounding South Side neighborhoods to look out for a man who tried to abduct a 14-year-old girl earlier this week.
The girl was in the 5700 block of South Wentworth Avenue about 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday when a man who had been driving a dark-blue pickup truck came up to her and tried to talk to her, then tried to grab her, according to a police alert.
When the girl ran away, the man chased the girl in the truck, but she was able to escape, according to police.
The man is described as Hispanic, between 40 and 50 years old, with short hair. He was wearing a grey shirt and driving a large, dark-blue pickup truck.
