PHOENIX – David DeJesus was activated from the Cubs disabled list Wednesday and Dave Sappelt was optioned to Triple-A Iowa.
DeJesus will bat leadoff tonight against Arizona right-hander Ian Kennedy, with Junior Lake batting behind him and playing left field, replacing Alfonso Soriano.
There was no immediate word on why Soriano is sitting, though he has not been traded.
