A new solar panel bulk purchasing program is available to Oak Park residents and others in the Chicago area.
The Solar Chicago program sets rates based on how many people participate, lowering prices with more participants, according to a village news release.
“We hope this program makes it less expensive for homeowners to consider solar panel installations,” Assistant Village Manager Rob Cole said.
Juhl Renewable Energy Systems and Mictrogrid Solar are providing panels, according to the release.
Homeowners who are interested in the program may find out more, including prospective rates, by visiting http://www.mygroupenergy.com/group/solarchicago. The application deadline is Sept. 30.
