Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

I stink at conventional, week-to-week handicapping, so let’s think long term.

Here are the Heisman Trophy odds, courtesy of Bovada.lv: Marcus Mariota 3-2, Dak Prescott 9-4, Melvin Gordon 6-1, Amari Cooper 18-1, Everett Golson 18-1, Jameis Winston 18-1, Ameer Abdullah 20-1, Bo Wallace 20-1, J.T. Barrett 20-1, Nick Marshall 20-1.

Where would my virtual money go? On Golson. If Notre Dame enters its Nov. 29 finale at USC with only one loss — and a great shot to snag a playoff spot — the world will be watching.

Minnesota (minus 5.5) at Illinois: The Illini are dangerous — and not only to themselves — with that Reilly O’Toole-Aaron Bailey quarterback combo, but Minnesota is too solid. Go with the Gophers.

Maryland (plus 11) at Wisconsin: Still don’t know what to make of a Badgers team that leads the Big Ten in yards per play (7.0) without a passing game, but Maryland is good enough to keep this close. Take the Terps.

Rutgers (plus 21) at Nebraska: Rutgers goes from Columbus to Lincoln with a six-day stop in New Jersey. Quite the vacation, right? Fly with the Huskers.

Michigan (plus 17) at Michigan State: So someone painted the block “M” on Michigan’s campus Spartan green. Clever. The Wolverines will exact revenge by scoring about 10 points. Take Sparty.

Ohio State (minus 14) at Penn State: Ohio State is the first Big Ten team since 1903 to score 50 or more points in four straight games. ‘Bout time I jump on the bandwagon. Ride the Bucks.

Last week: 2-3.

Season: 27-34-2.
