The Chicago area is under a freezing rain advisory from late Friday through Saturday morning.

One- to two-tenths of an inch of ice could accumulate in parts of the six-county metropolitan area, according to the National Weather Service. The advisory is in effect from 11 p.m. Friday until 9 a.m. Saturday.

The weather service warned of “extremely hazardous” driving conditions on untreated roads.

Overnight lows will be in the 20s. On Saturday, the high will be in the mid-40s, and on Sunday upper 40s with gusty rain is expected.

Highs next week through Thanksgiving are expected to be in the upper 20s and 30s.
